Strictly speaking Rendang originates from Indonesia, although it is widely used now in Asian cuisine particularly Malaysian. This medium spiced blend works best in long and slow 'one pot' cooked dishes, especially if using beef or lamb. It will produce a fairly thick sauce which is fragrant and almost a bit caramelised. For what it's worth it's my favourite !!!
