Laksa is a spicy noodle soup popular in Peranakan cuisine. However there are more types than you can shake a stick at.  Malaysian, Indonesian, Singaporean, in fact pretty much anywhere in the area of Maritime Southeast Asia will have a version.  All pretty much include some form of noodle, & most use Chicken and  Prawns, or, Tofu and vegetables. The one constant is that it will have a spicy chilli and coconut kick. You may see it described as any of the following;  Nyonya Laksa / Asam Laksa /   Laksa Lemak /  Laksa  Katong.  There are lots more variants !!!
